Chili Pasta

After a long day, Justin and I wanted something quick to eat after church. After searching through the cabinet, we didn't come up with any of our normal meals. I finally found some favorite ingredients and thought I'd try something new. Why not? This was the birth of our chili pasta.

3/4 box penne pasta (or pasta of your choice)
1 pound hamburger
1 can black beans
2 cans crushed tomatoes
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. taco seasoning blend (I have one a lady from church gave me; it has much less salt)
2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. red wine vinegar
1/4 cup parmesan cheese

Cook pasta according to package directions. Brown hamburger in skillet with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. When hamburger is browned, add beans, taco seasoning blend, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper. Cook for five minutes. Add tomatoes and vinegar, cook for 5-7 minutes or until mixture simmers. Drain pasta and return to pot. Add sauce and stir! Serve with parmesan cheese.

We also thought this would be good served over corn chips or tortilla chips instead of pasta. I might would make it spicier next time too. In case you hadn't noticed we love spices!
